We are a true Italian Restaurant. No fusion food, just simple fresh ingredients put together the way Italian food is supposed to be. We have our own gardens for herbs and seasonal vegetables and will be using the city’s local markets for fresh produce from local organic farms. Hand selected by our Chef William Ponholzer and directly to your plate is our goal. We are able to do this at Prospero, in a great neighborhood in a great food city like Buffalo. It doesn’t get any better than this!
Prospero Restaurant inhabits a charming dining space in Downtown Buffalo nestled behind Kleinhans Music Hall near Symphony Circle, —formerly Coda Restaurant— with an intimate dining room holding candlelit tables and an airy patio to enjoy Buffalo summers. A funky, fashionable crowd, fantastic food and great service have made this Italian restaurant a West side hotspot. Plan to be greeted by the gregarious co-owner Rick Yaeger, and then be attended to by the jovial and efficient waitstaff. Co-owner Pete Provenzo (formerly of Provenzo’s in Niagara Falls) presides over the kitchen, which dishes out rustic high-end Italian cuisine. Start with Peppers Prospero or Artichokes Calabria. Main dishes might include daily specials such as Pollo Picata or Bistecca Marsala. If pasta is what brings you out for Italian, opt for homemade Frutti DiMare, Ravioli Pomodoro, or Create Your Own! For dessert, save room for the Guinness Chocolate Cake.
